Jonathan Underhill

Jonathan is a 13-year veteran of Bloomberg News, where he was New Zealand Bureau Chief and one of four editors responsible for top news across Asia. He had worked for a number of newspapers, including the National Business Review, Sunday Star-Times, Dominion Post and Auckland Star and contributed to media companies in the U.S., Europe and South Africa. Pattrick cut his teeth as a journalist at NBR and The Dominion, before working between 1985 and 1988 as a press secretary for New Zealand's reformist Finance Minister Roger Douglas, a period of transforming economic change in New Zealand. He then spent nine years in the Parliamentary Press Gallery in Wellington, two of those years as Gallery chair, four of them as New Zealand Correspondent for The Australian.  He has worked also as a NZ correspondent for TIME magazine, the Australian Financial Review, and contributed to numerous British, American and Asian news publications.  Between 2001 and 2008, Pattrick worked in corporate communications for major New Zealand entities including The University of Auckland, Fonterra, James Hardie Industries, and Contact Energy Ltd.  He formed Content Ltd, the publisher of BusinessWire, with Jonathan Underhill in June 2008.
